The Final Countdown
Here we are...after three months of very minimal planning and know how we are 48 hours away from the big off.
The stickers have been applied to the Fun Bus and there is a general consensus of opinion that it hasn't turned out too bad.
The inside is another matter entirely...
The idea was to apply some sort of fabric/netting to the ceiling to cover up the bare metal.
The fabric Phil purchased, in all honesty, was the finest gold polyester I have ever had the chance to lay my one good eye on.
We tried to stick the fabric to the ceiling using some sort of 'gluey-paste', this has resulted in the inside looking like a dodgy half finished, two bob, Moroccan shag pad...the exact look we were after when we set out.
Unbelievable as it may seem, the brakes seen to have deteriorated whilst in the field of midget ponies...this, I hope, will be fixed otherwise the only real way to stop the bus is using the handbrake.
The make our journey to Le Man bearable, everyone who is coming has created a ten track playlist. Some of us have taken this very seriously indeed. Even though the full list of tracks has not yet been released, word is there is a healthy mix of thrash metal, christian rock and 80's funk soul.
Now all we have to do is drive the 10,000 miles to France...and hopefully back again or Darren's (Gulf Navara Support Vehicle picture above) fuel bill could go through the roof and he could be entered in to the Guinness World Records for the longest and most dangerous tow in recent history.

Almost There!!!
It has been some time since the last update but it has also been some time since we have done some serious work on the bus!!!
Since the last update we have installed a dangerously loud fog horn on the roof which I am sure will entertain our fellow campers and 4am. Thanks to Neil Petersen for the purchase, he thought he was buying some paint, he ended up buying paint, fog horn and a chrome FB1 badge.
We have also installed the window tint. This part of the project, I must admit, has been slightly less successful than any other part so far. The first attempt of installing the tint failed due to myself, Ollie and Phil not realising there was a 'sticky' side to the tint. More tint was purchased and the job was passed on to our expert in this field, Neil Petersen. Please note, the term 'expert' is used extremely loosely.
The sound system is up and working thanks to alot of help from Steve Lee and his friend Andy. Yet another piece of equipment that is dangerously loud and will make everyone happy on our camp at 4am when we have the Glee Album playing at rock level volume 11.
